The Pin cushion urchin will do well in most aquariums of a reasonable size containing lots of live rock, suggested at 100+ litres to ensure space for grazing and foraging. Pin cushion urchins are omnivores that primarily feed on algae. Pin cushion urchins are grazers and do an excellent job of helping to control algae in the aquarium, when no algae is present it should be fed algae sheets. Generally peaceful, not known to commonly or intentionally harm any other invertebrates or corals, they are however fairly strong and relentless in their quest to get at food.
These urchins originate from the reefs of Sri Lanka and remain fairly small for an urchin with a maximum size around 10cm.
