Nassarius snails have a big appetite and will become bvery active in the presence of food, they will glide at exceptional speeds for a snail over rock, glass or sand. Often burying themselves in the sand bed they perform a vital function of turning the sand as well as clearing it of detritus, fish waste or decaying organics.Â
