Tiger cowries are stunning large molluscs with an extremely desirable shell pattern, Cowries can extend their mantle to completely cover their shell, folding out from underneath them, it is this that keeps their shell in such brilliant and shiny condition.

Tiger cowries are omnivores eating both algae and meaty scraps they can forage. Adult tiger cowries will eat condylactus anemones so must not be housed with them, there are a few reports of them occasionally eating soft corals although we've not witnessed that ourselves and it may be that damaged or corals that are near death are a target. There is no suggestion of them eating stony corals.

Cowries are voracious algae eaters so can be a useful tool when trying to control algae growth.

The diet of cowries is easy to provide in the form of meaty frozen marine foods, scraps of fish or cockle and most importantly dried algae if not naturally present in the aquarium.

Due to variations in species your item may not be identical to that featured in the image, we do however ensure the species is correct and that the markings and colors are very similar.

Livestock is not automatically shipped, after ordering please advise us of a suitable date for delivery giving us at least 24 hours notice. Livestock can be delivered Tuesday to Friday only.

Before ordering please familiarise yourself with our alive arrive guarantee and the process for making claims under our guarantee.

Please be sure to select and pay for a livestock delivery when going through the checkout area. Livestock deliveries that do not include fish are a one-off flat rate cost of £9.99 no matter how many items you order.

We offer an 'Arrive Alive' guarantee on all corals, critters, fish and invertebrates. If they do not arrive alive then subject to these terms and conditions you can request a replacement or refund. We guarantee our livestock will arrive alive, there is no reason why it should arrive any other way due to the care and professional way in which they are packaged with heatpacks, polystyrene boxes and all other necessary precautions considered for the species we are shipping.

Shipping livestock is always carefully planned and we've made it as easy as possible to make sure you get some stunning new livestock for your aquarium as quickly and safely as possible.

When you order livestock you will be given the opportunity to select the day you would like delivery from the available dates. This makes it possible for you to order anytime and schedule the delivery for a day you can be home to accept it.

We've tried and tested livestock delivery over many years as you would expect there are a few terms and conditions we need to apply to make it work smoothly.

1. Livestock deliveries can only be made Wednesday to Friday.

2. Ireland, Highlands and Islands

We deliver all livestock to mainland UK. If you require a delivery to Ireland, Highlands or Islands please contact us first to discuss your requirements.

3. We offer an 'Arrive Alive' guarantee on livestock. Please be sure to check it out above.

4. You must be home to accept delivery of livestock, it will not be left safe. You will be asked to select a delivery date when placing your order so you can plan ahead.

5. Delivery charges are kept to a minimum and cover polystyrene boxes, heatpacks, speedy courier services and packing materials. We charge a one-off flat fee for delivery of livestock so you can order as many items as you like and only pay one lot of postage.
