Crocea clams are relatively easy to care for. They’re unable to move great distances or at least not in a very controlled manner so care should be taken to create a suitable base for them.
Crocea clams tend to prefer high light although smaller (younger) clams under a couple of inches will do just fine in more moderate light. Crocea clams are the smallest of the clams in the tridacna genus reaching a maximum size of around 6”.
Clams are filter feeders so the addition of a quality filter feeding food is recommended. Moderate to high indirect flow should be provided to assist with filter feeding.
As with all shelled animals it is important to maintain correct levels of Calcium, alkalinity and magnesium as well as trace elements in the aquarium.
