Chestnut turbo snail (Turbo castanea)
Family: Turbinidae
Care level: Easy
Temperament: Peaceful
Reef compatibility: Reef safe
Max size: 5cm
Diet: Herbivore
Chestnut turbo snails like their close cousin the Mexican turbos are an amazing algae eating snail with a voracious appetite, similar in grown size and appearance too.
Chestnut turbo's will graze on all types of algae on rocks and glass, their diet can be supplemented with dried algae if necessary but where ample live rock is provided finding food is not usually an issue for them.
The chestnut turbo snail is peaceful and easy to care for, survival rates are very high as unlike some types of snail they do not seem to find themselves in a position where they can't right themselves.
