As you’d expect the things we sell the most of aren’t always the most glamorous but they are things lots of people choose to use when creating their reef tank and usually for good reasons. Here’s what we found…
Live Copepods
Various Foods topped the first eleven spots so we’ll only include this one food item, Live copepods are by far our biggest selling item of the year. Reefers use copepods for lots of reasons.
Ideal for finicky eaters like butterfly’s, mandarins and anthias.
They’re indiscriminate filter feeders so help to rid the water of micro algae in the water column and on surfaces.
Their eggs and larvae are small enough to provide a natural food source for corals and other filter feeders creating a more robust and diverse environment. What cool little creatures!
D-D Aquascape Epoxy / Stone Grey
D-D Aquascape is a two-part epoxy putty that’s easy to use, mixing equal amounts of the two parts together gives you putty you can work with for about 30 minutes. Small corals and rocks can be firmly fixed under the water or more ambitious projects like bridges and shelves can be created out of the water, once set it’s rock solid!
Aquascape costs very little, and it’s available in rock grey or coralline purple to match your rock.
Red Sea Reefmat Fleece Roll
Reefmat fleece rolls are not a stand-alone product, they’re a top-up consumable for the Red Sea Reefmat. The amount of these we sell is testament to how successful the ReefMat has been in the couple of years it’s been around, it’s a real game-changer. If you are ever considering a filtration upgrade nothing polishes the water and helps control nutrient levels quite as quickly and easily as the Reefmat.
Maxspect coral glue
Another great value product from Maxspect, whilst there are lots of options for coral glue out there this one hits the mark in three respects, it’s inexpensive (under a couple of quid at the time of writing), it works brilliantly and comes in small tubes so if you’re only an occasional user and the end gets all gummed up there’s no great loss.
Red Sea Reef Energy
A tried and tested complete coral food for all types of coral. Since it was revamped a few years back it is a one-part feed that’s suitable for use in a doser (a weeks worth at a time).
Producing excellent coral growth and colour, it has been our and our customer’s staple coral food for many years. Available in 250ml, 500ml, 1000ml and 5000ml sizes to suit all tank sizes.
